Roadhouse 01, the debut album from the enigmatic Canadian artist (Allan Rayman), chronicles his retreat to an isolated cabin in the woods of Lost Springs, where he wrestles with his demons in the form of a rebellious alter ego, Mr. Roadhouse. It covers a lot of narrative territory, from the fluttery, vulnerable, hip-hop infused 'Repeat' to the closing tracks on the album, where the antagonistic Mr. Roadhouse fully takes over. The album fuses R&B, hip hop, and folk influences with dark, seductive storytelling.
