Morbid Stuff

  • Indie exclusive pink and oxblood vinyl
April 5, 2019
12" Album / BMG, Rise Records / Rock, Punk
Toronto’s PUP makes contemporary punk music, a glossy blend of emo confessions, sugary hooks, and raw energy. There is an overwhelming bleakness in singer Stefan Babcock’s rants and raves - his voice sounds like Craig Finn, but the content is more in line with Jello Biafra. The There are some moments of restraint, notably in the acoustic strums that introduce “Scorpion Hill” and the Springsteen-aspiring demeanor of “City”, but the record maintains a breakneck pace throughout. This record is pressed on limited edition pink and oxblood colored vinyl.
